14 inches

With the help of my plumber Adam and contractor David, things are picking up speed in the bathroom area. As things fall into place, we see that the key to success A) a good plumber B) a good contractor and C) a small toilet. The newer tanks are compact which allows for more space for vanities and showers. When you only have 8 feet to play with, every inch counts.

14 inches = lots of space for everything else

Check out the completed membrane for the shower stall!
Amazing job by Adam getting this drain sorted- ready to be concreted and tiled!

Today I also had a lesson in water diverters. To get water to run to three different areas of the same shower, you need to install a controller that is able to control water temperature and direction of the water at the same time.
courtesy of Adam attempting to explain this entire process to me.

The only problem is that to purchase a fancy plate and knob runs between 400-2,000. When I went shopping around today, they averaged in the $800 range.
I may have to rethink this triple purpose thing and skip the rain shower thing after all.
This is an example of a different type of controler

And this little guy will run me about $100 and is the Rough in Valve which makes it all possible.
