Flooring

The flooring went down today! Its about 75 percent in place. It really is starting to look like a condo.

This week, I will be playing the role of contractor while David has finished the majority of his work ( and is golfing in Florida). The rest is just touch ups and other workers taking care of specific elements of the condo renovation.

Take a look: FLOORING!

Running the length of the living room

Check out the beautiful colour with the grey undertones

A sample of couch material strategically placed on a sample of the flooring....

Hardwood into the sun room- the silver lining you see is called under padding. It  insults the floor and makes it soft under the feet.

Hardwood into the kitchen!

This is called engineered hardwood flooring. The one I purchased has 9 layers of wood. If in the event it gets damaged it can easily be sanded. The material interlocks together through a series of tongue and groove sides. In order for the floor to "float" it has to have room to move therefore when installed, it does not go flush against the walls.

Once the rest of the flooring is in place and the wooden baseboards are installed, it will have a true finished look.

NOTE: The blackberry camera does not do this justice.
